After not touching my bike a single day in April, I started riding again in May! In fact, I rode 20 days in May, including the past 9 days and got back up to 20 mile rides in the last week.
I can come up with all kinds of excuses, but would most likely attribute April to a change in my wife’s work schedule. Previously, she was leaving about the same time that I dropped our son at the bus stop, which would have allowed me to return from the bus stop, kit up, and ride. But now that she’s starts later, I am choosing (that’s why I call it an excuse rather than a cause) to spend the extra 45 minutes hanging out with her in the morning.
By the time she leaves and I get going, the sun was up and the wind was blowing enough to make riding less convenient (again, an excuse, but we all use them) and thus more difficult to get back in the swing.
But in May, I just decided to push through and just get going! For me, this is good news and bodes well for my future fitness.
